My little girls are now one and a half. How time flies. I never could have imagined them being this big when they were first born. Often people think twins are the same. But my two little monkeys are very different but still do share some things in common. It’s been amazing so far to see their little personalities develop and their bond with each other grow but also their individuality. Here’s a quick little update on Sav and Mik.
Savanna Rose Green
At 18 months Sav weighs in at 10.6kgs and 78.5cm tall. The words she can clearly say are, mamma, dadda, nan nan, car, shoe, all gone, hi, bye bye, ok, moo moo (what we call Mikayla) bindi, puss (cat), woof, ta ta (thank u).
Savannas favourite foods are, strawberries, grapes, sultanas, pasta, Shepards pie, mash potato, baked beans, capsicum, tiny teddies, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, potato sticks. She’s still allergic to kiwi fruit.
Savanna loves drawing and painting, when ever I get the craft box out its always a fight to put it away. The problem being she doesn’t just want to paint or draw on paper, she wants to paint and draw on everything else also. She loves the park, digging with her spade and crashing down sandcastles that daddy makes. She loves the swings but is hesitant on the slides. I think she has a slight fear of heights. I let them watch a bit of tv each day, savs favourites are giggle and hoot, zigby, grandpa in my pocket, small potatos and sesame st.
Sav is very much a daddies girl, if she finds something she’s not suppose to have she takes it straight to her daddy. She loves daddy cuddles and following him around.
Mikalya Janet green
At 18 months Mik weighs in at 9.8kgs and is 81.5cms tall. The words she can clearly say are mumma, dadda, nan nan, car, shoe, bless (as in bless u) hello, bye, go (ready set) two, yes,ta ta.
Miks favourite foods are, sultanas, grapes, banana, watermelon, anything sweet she can get her hands on, potato sticks, yoghurt, tiny teddies, apple. Mik is quite fussy with her food. She doesn’t like meat, and will sometimes only have puréed baby food.
Mik loves the park, she will throw herself down the slide, climb up the ladders like she’s a 6 year old. Mik is quite more social with other kids, more so than her sister. Mik is always up for having a play mate to chase around with. She loves kicking and throwing balls, as well as dancing and spinning around. She will do a little jig to any tune.
Her favourite shows she shares in common with her sister, mik is much more interested in tv than her sister. Her attention span is a bit longer and she will watch a whole show till it finishes. I have to make sure I come in and turn the tv off otherwise she will sit and watch for an hour. Both girls absolutely live for the wiggles. They know the moves to rock a bye your bear, and know when to make the animal noises in do the monkey. As they do know when to make the hoot hoot noise to giggle and hoot.
Mik is much more of a mummies girl. Although her favourite person in the world is her poppy.
Sleeping is an ongoing battle with the girls, co-sleeping has been easiest for us all. They nap well during the day but love a snuggle too much at night and refuse to sleep all night in their own cots.
Savanna is so far the dominant one out of the two. Mik just happy to follow her sister around. Sav has a good temper on her, where as mik will just get upset when cranky.
Well that’s about it for now. Here’s to another 6 months and they will be the big TWO!!!
Till next time….

Another mothers day has past, my 2nd as a mum :) We had a beautiful morning on the beachfront drinking smoothies and watching passers by. Then we had a delicious lunch at our usual spot The Byron golf club. The girls enjoyed the day as did i, but by afternoon we were all tuckered out.

My babies are turning into little girls far too quickly. Though they are at a great stage and are so fun to watch and play with. They love the outdoors, which means alot of mummy chasing after them. With a trip to a park most days or a play with bindi in the backyard they are full of energy until nap times comes then….crash. They love their food, Sav has been eating half a punnet of strawberries most days and Mikayla loves her watermelon. Their favourite dinner is spaghetti bolognese or shepards pie. Over easter Mikayla found her love of chocolate, now i cant eat any in front of her otherwise i have to share or she flops to the floor in a tantrum. Savanna so far isnt a fan of chocolate but she does love a lick of an icecream, not very often. They have recently found their love of climbing, onto the dining table chairs then onto the table, just a few days ago we found they had pushed a chair up next to their high chairs and climbed and sat in them.
Sleeping is on and off, Sav is ok most night settled in her cot but Mikayla is another story. She loves co-sleeping, and i am just this week trying to get her to sleep through in her own cot. Sav is down in byron with nanny and poppy for a few nights so i cant sought out her sisters sleeping habits. Usually Mik will sleep in her cot till about midnight then shes wide awake unless shes put into bed with me. Partly this is my fault as i wasnt caring the first few nights it happened as long as everybody got to sleep, but now i miss sleeping next to my husband and sharing a bed with a wiggly wiggle baby isnt good for my beauty rest.
Here are a few of my favourite pics from the last few weeks, some u may have seen already but they are so cute you know youll want to look again ;)
